Chalcraft & Clay is a family owned and family run company, consisting of father and son Phil and James Hanks. Both share the same love for gardening & landscaping, injecting this passion through their green fingered touch into each and every project taken on.

Phil Hanks – Chalcraft & Clay Director
Hello, I am Phil, the founder of Chalcraft & Clay. My first job working the land was as a farm labourer on farms in Alresford, one of which my Great Grandfather had also worked on many, many years before. This lead to me serving an apprenticeship in and becoming a horticultural mechanic.
Some years later I turned my skills towards golf course upkeep, becoming a golf course manager which eventually resulted in me becoming the Estates Manager for Old Alresford House. In 2014 I founded Chalcraft & Clay, which has allowed me to share my passion with my clients throughout Hampshire.
James Hanks – Chalcraft & Clay Director
Joined Chalcraft & Clay in 2019, working as a father and son team.
